The Journey of Reupholstery
Share
At our shop, we believe every piece of furniture has a story to tell. Our latest project—a vintage Parker Knoll wing chair—certainly had tales of the past etched into its fabric and frame. Here’s the journey of how we brought this beautiful piece back to life, ready for a new chapter in your home.
Finding the Treasure
Our adventure began at a quaint antique dealer, where we discovered this charming Parker Knoll wing chair. Despite its worn-out fabric and tired woodwork, we saw its potential and knew it deserved a second chance.
The Restoration Process
Woodwork Refinishing: The first step was to breathe new life into the wooden frame. Our skilled craftsmen carefully sanded and refinished the legs, revealing the natural beauty of the wood. The result? A stunning, polished finish that complements the chair's classic design.
Reupholstering: Next, we turned our attention to the upholstery. We chose the exquisite William Morris "Willow Bough" pattern in a mineral colourway, a favourite of ours. The soft, subtle hues and intricate design of the fabric add a touch of elegance and timelessness to the chair.
A New Beginning
Now, this lovingly restored Parker Knoll wing chair stands proud in our refurbished shop, ready to find a new home. It's a testament to the beauty of restoration and the enduring appeal of quality craftsmanship.
As William Morris famously said, "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." We couldn't agree more. This chair is not just a piece of furniture; it's a blend of functionality and beauty, waiting to be part of your story.
